Past Events
Boulevard Swing has played at a wide variety of events in the West of England and beyond, including corporate parties, weddings and live music nights in various venues.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October 2011 saw two very busy and intense, but enjoyable days for the band, during the first recording session with its new line-up. Tracks including 'Let's Dance, Misty, Cute, That's Life, L-O-V-E, Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye' and more made it to the album, as well some bonus material. You can get your copy bu calling the band's manager, Peter Nutt on 07921 263045 or emailing rozelmusic@hotmail.co.uk. Order yours now in time for Christmas.
Saturday 24 September 2011, Boulevard Swing were pleased to provide nearly two hours of fambulous swing music for a ten year anniversay wedding bash in Banwell. As usual, the band were able to cater to the theme of the evening, that of 1950s ratpack. Feedback on the night ranged from 'truly impressive' to 'superb'. Here's to the next ten years, Pete and Lou!
Thursday 1 September 2011 saw the band perform for the very first time in the Taste of Somerset Festival in Hutton, nr Weston-super-Mare. Joining the band, alonside our resident singer, were female vocal trio, In Harmony for a special 40s-themed evening, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion. The event went extremely well, with the band and singers being invited back next year. The ultimate compliment
Sunday 28 August 2011, we filled the fabulous setting of Grove Park with big band sounds from 3pm onwards, for two sun-filled hours. Well, sun yes but almighty winds too! We hope the weather is kinder next time, we had to sadly cancel the gig in May, and take refuge in the lovely surroundings of The Imperial Brasserie. They took us in and allowed us to play for their punters instead, much to their unexpected delight. Still, some great feedback from the public was all the band needed to give a great performance in what were quite arduous conditions. Thanks to John Horler, Cafe in the Park, for sponsoring this event, as he does with the entire band season over the summer months.
Sunday 17 July 2011, the band made a return appearance - scheduled this time - at the Imperial Brasserie, WsM. We were joined, along with some very special instrumentalists, by guest vocalist Rob Kelly (son of our lead trombonist, Terry). For his debut performance, Rob picked some great numbers to perform, including Mack the Knife, Aint That a Kick and I've Got You Under My Skin. Well done Rob, you swung it.
Saturday 2 July 2011, Boulevard Swing once again entertained villagers and regulars of the Sun Inn in Lydiard Millicant, near Swindon. This was the band's second visit and we are told this is to become an annual bash, with Boulevard Swing featuring in future plans
June 2011 and we were very pleased in performing to a near capacity audience at the Blakehay. The band performed a fantastic show and we're looking forward to making a return in December for our Big Band Christmas Show. Tickets available now and will be £11 and £8 concession. To order, call Peter on 07921 263045.
